Evaluation of Women Diary Cooperative Project in WB
This project, sponsored by Department of Women and Child Development, Government of India, covered ten districts in West Bengal. The evaluation covered the socio economic impact, income generation, effectiveness of physical and financial inputs, gender sensitisation and empowerment achieved by the project. The efficacy of the women's societies in comparison to other societies and their impact on other development programmes were studied. The study revealed that the income level of majority of the women members has increased and their role in decision making and control over their income has improved. The women's societies have been able to provide some impetus to adult education, health and family welfare programmes.
