Impact of Women's Representation in Panchayats
A study on Impact of Women Representation on the Functioning of Panchayats in West Bengal has been initiated. The study will assess the role and contribution of women members in decision making, their perceptions on development issues, and how far women's representation has helped in improving access and quality of service in rural areas, in focusing gender issues in development and in improving women's participation in panchayat activities.
