Capacity Building Programme of officials of Kolkata Municipal
Corporation (KMC)
UMC,
ATI is an important stakeholder of the Capacity Building Programme of the
officials of KMC. Institute
of Urban Management(IUM)
is the training and capacity building section of KMC. UMC, ATI has been
identified by the IUM, KMC for the training of officials and training of trainers of the wide cross sections of
Deputy Managers, Assistant Managers, Assistant Engineers, Sub Assistant
Engineers and other senior officials. Salient features of the training and
other activities held for it is as under:
A. In-service
training of Assistant Managers: six day module consisting of basic conception
of urbanization, history of KMC, communication skills and interpersonal
relations, constitutional and legislative framework of KMC, Values in
administration, Stress Management, Servicing customer, Motivational Leadership
and team building, RTI act and Citizens Charter, Working philosophy in public
administration, problem solving and decision making etc. : 17 modules of around
25 participants executed.
B. Induction
Training of Sub-assistant Engineers (SAE) also held.
C. Training
of Trainer (TOT) was held on Training Techniques also held for the KMC
officials.
D. There
are modules for the Deputy Managers waiting to be executed in the current year.
E. One
module for the Urban Risk and Disaster Management also is there for
implementation.
Post
Training impact is good and authority is very good. Authority is much keen to
have more activities with UMC, ATI.The post Training evaluation is also done for the KMC authority. Candidates are
given questionnaires at the time of completion of the training and asked for
give feedback as per the proforma after one and half month works. Their peer
groups are also being asked for the feed back. The evaluation till date shows a
satisfactory progress.
